The Enriching Adventure trails through a beautiful landscape of blue pine, rhododendron and oak forests, potato fields beneath snow capped mountains. It follows the old trail used by people migrating between Longety & Phobjikha when there were no motor motor roads.

What to Expect:
Easy – suitable for beginners
- Elevation: 3,467 meters above sea level
- Temperature: Approx. – 4 to 20 degree Celsius
- Weather: Best in Spring (Mar., Apr., May) and Autumn (Sep., Oct., Nov.)
- Mountain roads (could be narrow and bumpy in certain places)
- Food: Limited western food and restaurant chains in Bhutan
- Fresh air and smiling faces
Itinerary
★ Arrival at Paro Airport
★ Visit National Museum and short trek through a village to Paro Rinpung Dzong
★ Drive to Paro town for lunch
★ Walk along the last remaining Iron-Chained Bridge
★ Overnight in Peaceful Resort, Thimphu
★ Early Breakfast and drive towards Punakha
★ Stop at Dochola (3,115 m)
★ Visit Chimmi Lhakhang (Fertility temple of the Divine Madman)
★ Lunch at Chimmi Lhakhang village.
★ Rafting along Pho Chhu (Male River)
★ Meditation by the campsite or at the resort, led by a monk
★ Camping by Pho Chhu Or overnight at Damchen Resort
★ Early morning drive to Gangtey
★ Charity – please choose one: Sponsor lunch to Tabiting School and join 400 students for lunch, distribute donation packs or books to the school library. Or visit an underprivileged village and distribute some donation packs. Or on Day 4, visit painters at work in a temple in Longtey Village. Donate for temple mural paintings.
★ Visit potato farmer’s house, have tea and help with farming (weeding, planting or harvesting)
★ Overnight in Nga Yabling Village lodge, Gangtey (2,500m)
★ After breakfast, 30 mins drive to our starting point, Lawa La
★ Lunch at Yak pasture
★ Descend to Longtey (+ temple mural charity if chosen)
★ Dinner and Overnight in Kichu Resort , Chuzomsa

★ Early morning drive to Thimphu
★ Arrive Thimphu in the afternoon.
A) Sightseeing & Shopping
★ Visit National Memorial Chorten and Kuensel Phodrang.
★ Visit craft bazaar and 13 Art & Craft School.
★ Shopping for souvenirs.
★ Driver to Paro
★ In the evening, watch Cultural Show
B) Tshechu or religious Festival of dances
★ Punakha Tshechu (17-19 February), Talo Tshechu (16-18 March), Paro Tshechu (19-23 March), Gangtey Tshechu (9-11 Oct/festival first, then trek), Thimphu Tshechu (11-13 October), or Druk Wangyel Tshechu (13 Dec). These are tentative dates.
★ Overnight in Peaceful Resort, Thimphu
★ After breakfast drive to Paro valley to hike the famous Taktshang Monastery (3,120m). Hike uphill all the way to Tiger’s Nest Temple (1,000m ascent) . Last part of the hike are mostly stairs.
★ Lunch at Tiger’s Nest Cafeteria.
★ You are not only hiking to the most sacred & holiest place in Bhutan, but will enjoy breathtaking views along the trail up.
★ Overnight in Paro
★ Your guide and driver will send you to the airport and bid you farewell.
