The Trek starts near the village of Tabiting. The trail winds through meadows and fields and the climb takes you through a mixed forest of juniper, bamboo, magnolia and rhododendron to Tsele La (3,430m). From here you descend into the Juge Kangkha Chhu valley. Further on, the path leads to Gogona.

Itinerary
★ Arrival at Paro airport
★ Visit National Museum and short trek through a village to visit Paro Rinpung Dzong
★ Drive to Paro town for lunch
★ Walk along the last remaining Iron-Chained Bridge
★ Overnight in Thimphu
★ Trekking Sangay Gang to Phajoding
Distance 4-5 kms, 4-5 hours, Ascent <1000m, 1000m descent★ After breakfast we drive to our starting point at Sangay Gang, an area brimmed with prayer flags to bless our trek. The trek to Phajoding includes gentle slopes through thick blue pine forest. We cross a monastery, Chhokhortse Gompa (3,010m) and slowly descent slightly steep slopes towards Motithang. Your vehicle will await you at the end of the trek. ★ Driving down the hill, we may drop by Motithang Park to see Takin, the national animal of Bhutan. ★ Overnight in Thimphu
★ Early breakfast and drive towards Punakha
★ Stop at Dochula (108 stupas memoriam – 3,115m)
★ Lunch at Chimi Lhakhang Village
★ Short trek around the village to visit Chimi Lhakhang (Fertility Temple of Divine Madman)
★ Rafting along Pho Chu (Male River)
★ Meditation with a monk by the river (if it is deserted) or at the resort
★ Overnight in Punakha
★ Early morning drive to Gangtey
★ Charity – may be done here or on Day 8 at National Memorial Chorten
★ Visit potato farmer’s house, have tea and help with farming (weeding, planting, harvesting or packing)
★ Gangtey Valley is home to migrating Black Neck Cranes in winter, starting from end October.
Distance 15 km, 6-7 hours, 610 m ascent, 410 m descent, camp altitude 3,130 m.
★ The Trek starts near the village of Tabiting. The trail winds through meadows and fields and the climb takes you through a mixed forest of juniper, bamboo, magnolia and rhododendron to Tsele La (3430m). From here you descend into the Juge Kangkha Chhu valley. Further on, the path leads to Gogona, well known for its “Gogona Cheese” production. The campsite is a bit further on besides a small stream in a yak pasture called Zasa.
Distance 16 km, 5-7 hours, 450 m ascent, 860 m descent, camp altitude 3,330 m.
★ A gentle climb leads to Shobe La pass (3,480m). The descent from the Pass leads to a wide valley, surrounded by beautiful mountain ranges. Below the route one can see Khothokha, a village with about 60 houses. You finally reach the campsite by climbing gently up till you see four chortens in a forest of blue pine.
Distance 12km, four to five hours, 120m ascent, 1,340m descent.
★ From the camp you climb till you reach a forest road. From here it’s an easy walk up to a little ridge at 2,800m. The walk down back into the valley leads you through Bhutan’s best bird watching areas. Bid farewell to your trekking at Tikke zampa and drive to Wangdue.
★ Overnight in Chuzomsa
★ Activity & Venue will be determined once dates are confirmed.
★ After breakfast, hike uphill to the famous Tiger’s Nest temple (1,000m ascent)
★ Before dinner, meditate with a monk at your resort and bless you with a peaceful journey onwards.
★ Overnight in Paro
★ Your guide & driver will send you to the airport and bid you farewell.
